What’s in a slogan?

Throughout the last two decades, iLOQ’s brand has gone through several iterations, each one bringing a new slogan to the table. The first, and still one of the most memorable, was ‘No batteries, no worries’. This simple slogan put iLOQ firmly on its path to becoming the global leader in battery-free digital access management. 

Our solutions have been, and always will be, battery-free. First, there came the digital key where the power for recognizing access rights and opening locks came from the physical motion of inserting the key into the lock. 

Always (at least!) one step ahead of the competition, we realized very early on the impact of mobile technology on communications and connectivity. So, we took another giant leap forwards by introducing our mobile solution where a smartphone is the only key and power source you need to get fast and secure access. 

New brand, new slogan 

Rebrands brought new slogans. In 2020, ‘Making life accessible’ came to the forefront. The rationale for this slogan was that, by replacing mechanical locking with digital access management we can provide people with easy, efficient and secure access to everyday living and working spaces the world over. 

This slogan also still holds true and remains our company ‘purpose’. However, a few years later, as the world emerged from the grip of COVID 19, we introduced the slogan ‘Life made limitless’. The premise behind this slogan was that our solutions make daily life easier and more enjoyable by improving the speed and efficiency of access rights administration and facilitating smooth movement by increasing flexibility and reducing restrictions. 

It’s all about ease 

The science behind our solutions may be complex, but, for our customers and end users, it’s all about ease. Having said that, we also need to be acutely aware of maintaining the balance between accessibility and security. We want to help people move around their homes and the places they work and visit on a daily basis quickly and efficiently, but we also need to prevent unauthorized access. Cue the introduction of our most recent slogan ‘Join the smart-locking revolution’. 

As said earlier, mobile technology is having a huge impact on communications and connectivity. We already have the technology that allows you to open a lock with your smartphone, but now we are focusing on providing the digital services and software solutions that make your life even easier AND more secure. In a nutshell – smarter. 

The smart-locking revolution was launched in the spring at an exhibition in Las Vegas. This was not a ‘one solution, one time’ type of launch. Over the next few months, you will consistently see new developments hitting the market. Here is just a taste of what’s to come. 

Modular iLOQ App 

Our existing mobile apps (iLOQ S50, iLOQ HOME, iLOQ FobApp and Kodinportti mobile) will be replaced with one modular app that serves all our segments (for example residential, commercial and critical infrastructure). It maximizes security and ease of use and creates higher value because customers only pay for the features that they need and use. 

New and improved iLOQ Manager 

Our locking system platform is undergoing big changes. The new AWS cloud back end brings scalability and higher availability, a better user experience (with easy-to-use features), a new navigation structure and, for example, a new ‘Premises’ structure to help easy deployment and maintenance of the locking system. 

 iLOQ Web – the iLOQ ‘mini-Manager’ 

In its first release, this is a web- and browser-based ‘iLOQ mini-Manager’. It simplifies administration for people who just need to perform basic daily access-management tasks. There is no need to learn how to use the whole iLOQ Manager or download and install a Windows client on their PC. In the pipeline, other admin tasks will be built into the iLOQ Web, such as administrating the information screen content, setting up spaces, and service with or without payment for bookings and maybe even intercom users in properties. 

Integrations are high on the agenda  

iLOQ’s secure, easy-to-integrate application programming interface (API) allows the seamless exchange of information between iLOQ’s locking platform and other systems. There are many specific benefits of integration such as: 

• Easy and efficient daily operations through customers’ own systems 

• Efficient and secure management of users and keys 

• The ability to keep track of who has accessed properties 

But the main advantages are that integration creates  better user experiences and ensures ease of use for our customers. 

650 iLOQ customers are currently using APIs on a daily basis with over 2 million API transactions every day. 

The sky is the limit
