About the project

For Vélo-transit, this project is to create a sustainable, integrated transportation ecosystem that encourages more people to use bicycles for their daily commute and travel needs. 1. Proximity to work: With 36% of Canadian workers living within 5 km of their workplace, biking is a viable and sustainable option for many, but security concerns around bike theft can deter people.
2. Bike theft epidemic: By offering secure public bike storage, Vélo-transit is tackling a major barrier to increased bike usage in cities, potentially encouraging more people to switch to biking.
3. Environmental impact: By supporting bike users and integrating with public transit, Vélo-transit is contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, which is crucial for combating climate change.
