WonenBreburg is a social housing corporation based in Breda and Tilburg in the Netherlands. WonenBreburg focuses on housing people with limited opportunities in the private housing market. Currently, about 40,000 people live in approximately 30,000 WonenBreburg homes.
About the project
In the past, WonenBreburg used a digital locking system powered by batteries. This system was nearing the end of its service life and WonenBreburg started looking for a more sustainable solution. In the search for a new locking system, WonenBreburg looked for a solution that required little maintenance, did not require replacing batteries and was easy to manage. This led WonenBreburg to the iLOQ locking system.
The solution
After a successful pilot project with a total of 200 iLOQ S5 cylinders and 500 keys, a partner was chosen and the solution was installed to secure over 500 complexes.
To date, the equipment supplied to WonenBreburg includes 55,325 iLOQ S5 digital keys, 8314 cylinders and 910 iLOQ S5 Online systems. iLOQ Online expands the offline locking system into a remotely controllable access management system by allowing remote-controlled cylinders, RFID/PIN code readers and time-controlled electronic doors to be added to the same system.
Recording, implementation and service tasks involved working with one of iLOQ’s partners – ISERO. They were closely involved in the entire process and ensured that the iLOQ system was successfully implemented on several fronts.

iLOQ’s battery-free solution eliminates the cost of purchasing batteries and the maintenance time and cost of continually replacing them.
Reduced costs
Key management is easier and more cost-efficient with iLOQ’s digital solution. Cylinders do not need to be replaced if a key is lost.
