About the customer

Originally a tobacco warehouse, the Unknown Group’s Titaan property underwent a sustainable transformation to become Europe’s largest impact campus. Whereas the focus of a regular collective building is often on renting out offices, Titaan goes further. It is an impact innovation hub and experience center consisting of office spaces, meeting rooms, event spaces and makerspaces. Their goal is to connect start-ups, scale-ups, students, governments and investors. And, as a ‘clubhouse’ as they say it themselves, to work, connect and test innovative and sustainable solutions.

About the project

As a multifunctional collective building, doors are used frequently on a daily basis. Whether it is to enter the building, or to enter an individual office, a lot of keys are needed. There are regular tenants with their own space, and also organizers of events and conferences. The Unknown Group was looking for a multifunctional and modern locking system to help the building function smoothly and safely.

The solution

150 iLOQ S5 cylinders have been installed, combining a physical key with card readers. The central rooms are accessible via the card reader and each specific office or meeting room is linked to a digital physical key and the right person. Because access can be easily controlled in the backend, every person within the building has access to the right rooms. When a guest returns the key at the end of the day, it can easily be reprogrammed for the next visitor.

iLOQ’s solution is user-friendly and sustainable. It can be used for multiple purposes, not only for personal access, but also to pay for a cup of coffee or lunch. Both permanent tenants and (daytime) guests can use all the facilities within the building.

Flexible access for Europe’s largest impact campus

Scalability

Being cable-free, the solution is easy to install and simple to expand in the future.

Versatility

Both permanent tenants and visitors can use all the facilities within the building. iLOQ’s key not only grants access, but it can also be used to pay for a cup of coffee or lunch.

“We chose iLOQ because it is not just a key. Within the building, we can use the system in multiple ways. For example, we can issue temporary keys for a day, and it is also possible to use it to get coffee or lunch.”
