iLOQ’s ice-cool partnership
Aside from his role as President and CEO of iLOQ, Heikki Hiltunen is also busy in his roles as Chairman of the Finnish national hockey league, SM-Liiga (the top level of ice hockey in Finland) and Chairman of Hockey-Team Vaasan Sport (a team from Heikki’s hometown which plays in the league).
iLOQ is a major sponsor of the Finnish league whose season runs from September to March. It has 15 teams, each playing 60 games during the regular season. The top six teams then move on to the playoffs, where they compete for the championship title.
The Finnish league is played in some of the most modern and well-equipped arenas in Europe, making it a popular destination for ice hockey fans from around the world. iLOQ’s logo can be seen on the netting on one of the goals in each of the stadiums around the country and on the helmets of the players from Hockey Team Vaasan Sport.
In addition to sponsoring the Finnish league, iLOQ will be an official sponsor of the 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 World Championship which will be played in Espoo and Vantaa in Finland from 25 April until 5 May. Once again, iLOQ’s logo will be visible on the goals in the stadiums and also on the side boards and under the ice.
“Ice hockey has always been close to my heart, and I am proud that we can use sports forums, such as the Finnish league and the under-18 world championships, to also promote the other ‘love of my life’ – iLOQ! Like iLOQ, the Finnish league pays special attention to the ecological sustainability of its operations. It is committed to further reducing its carbon footprint in the future by, for example, optimizing transportation arrangements and recycling old equipment,” states Heikki Hiltunen, President and CEO, iLOQ.
