iLOQ’s battery-free and keyless smart-locking solution has been chosen to maximize security at Milence charging hubs
iLOQ, an innovative player in digital access management solutions, is to provide Milence with its battery- and cable-free and keyless smart-locking solution.
Milence, the joint venture between Daimler Truck, the TRATON GROUP and Volvo Trucks, is building Europe’s largest charging network for electric trucks and is committed to deploying and operating at least 1,700 high-capacity public charging points by 2027 to accelerate the transition to zero-emission heavy-duty vehicles.
iLOQ’s smart locks will be installed to protect the charging and transformer stations. With iLOQ’s solution, electricity harvested from a smartphone’s NFC induction is used to confirm access rights and open the lock. This turns the phone into both a key and a power source and eliminates the risks associated with lost, stolen or copied keys. Access rights are sent remotely and in real time to iLOQ’s app running on the smartphone. They can be updated and immediately revoked as needs change leading to time and resource savings and helping to prevent unauthorized access. In addition, the solution gives Milence an advanced level of control over who has access to the stations.
The collaboration between Milence and iLOQ illustrates a shared commitment to strengthening security and acting sustainably.
