iLOQ takes center stage in today’s smart cities
Firstly, let’s define what we mean by a smart city.
According to the European Commission, a quick definition of a smart city is a place where traditional networks and services are made more efficient with the use of digital solutions for the benefit of its inhabitants and businesses.
For a city to be ‘smart’, according to today’s demanding standards, it needs to go beyond using resources more efficiently, finding more sustainable energy solutions and creating less emissions. It also needs to have smarter urban transport networks, an upgraded infrastructure, effective waste recycling or disposal facilities and more efficient ways to light and heat buildings. Residential and commercial properties need to be more secure, but not to the detriment of efficient and smooth movement. We also need to consider mass urbanization and the needs of an ageing population.
That may seem like a tall order, but, for companies like iLOQ, it is our raison d’etre – our reason for being.
Over the next year, we will be bringing you a series of articles that show how iLOQ is already taking center stage in today’s smart cities. We are no longer a company that just provides secure access to the buildings and spaces we use daily. We now offer a robust portfolio of digital services and software solutions that are already making life smarter, easier, and even more secure and sustainable.
