Back in the iLOQ family
Key Account Manager, Sebastian Schanda, rejoins the iLOQ family to boost iLOQ’s business in the residential sector.
Sebastian Schanda is a 36-year-old sales professional from Mainhardt in the Baden-Württemberg region of Germany. After training in technical sales, Sebastian began his career in 2012 in Link Objektberatung, a commercial agent for security technology manufacturer DOM Sicherheitstechnik GmbH & Co. KG.
After learning more about iLOQ’s innovations in the locking industry, Sebastian joined iLOQ in March 2015 as a Sales Manager. Quickly gaining experience and expertise in iLOQ’s digital locking solutions, he became Director of the Residential sector. He successfully expanded iLOQ’s customer base by demonstrating how digital locking solutions bring high security and unparalleled ease of access management paired with competitive lifecycle costs to this vital sector.
In autumn 2019, Sebastian received an offer by a competitor to play a key role in the housing segment. However, he soon realised that the grass is not always greener on the other side.
“Sometimes you need a little distance to see things more clearly. iLOQ’s products are industry leading, and the people who plan, develop, manufacture and sell them are truly unique,” explained Sebastian on his return to iLOQ.
“I met iLOQ’s founder, Mika Pukari, in 2015. He talked about his motivation for inventing a battery-free digital locking cylinder. I was impressed then by his passion and the dedication of iLOQ’s employees. On my return to iLOQ, even though the company had grown tremendously, I was delighted to see that the passion and team spirit still existed. The solidarity, support and enthusiasm of each of my colleagues remain, and I am proud to be back in the iLOQ family,” Sebastian continues.
“As a Key Account Manager, I now spend my time working with key customers and ensuring that iLOQ retains and even increases its prominent position in the residential market. By replacing mechanical locking systems with state-of-the-art battery-free digital locking cylinders and flexible access management software that can be operated by anyone, iLOQ fits perfectly into this segment. I have been using iLOQ Privus for over five years, and am thrilled that I can use a digital locking system without ever having to change a battery,” explains Sebastian.
When he’s not working, Sebastian is a very active family man and enjoys spending as much time as possible with his wife and two daughters – aged 2 and 3:
“I had a few hobbies before I became a father. But I can honestly say that none of them felt anywhere near as good as playing with my daughters. When I’m away on business, getting a message from them to wish me good night helps me sleep well in every hotel. And coming home after a business trip and hugging them is the greatest,” states the proud father.
